Attorney General Race Results - Secretary of State

Article about Results - Helena IR

To offer perspective, our son Cameron turned two last month.  It was not long after Cam’s birth that we decided to jump onto this rollercoaster known as a statewide campaign.

It has been an amazing and rewarding experience over these past two years.

Were it not for the support and unending patience of my wife Lisa, and our children Caroline, Alex, and Cam, we would not be celebrating this victory.

My gratitude also extends to you. You have given your money, time, energy, and prayers. I believe politics is about service, but it is also the most self-absorbed exercise one can ever undertake.  I have been given so much more than I deserve, and for this I am thankful.

I am also very appreciative of those who supported me with their vote, and I look forward to earning the respect and trust of those who voted for my opponent.

During the final week of the campaign, I learned that a first grade boy at our daughter’s school decided to be Steve Bullock for Halloween.

I will always keep Parker Keller in mind.  Not only thinking about the Montana in which he will be raised, but also weighing whether my actions as a public servant will make Parker proud of his 2008 costume choice.

I began this campaign talking about what kind of state and community we want to share, what we can do to make sure my kids, and all Montana’s kids, are afforded every opportunity that I had growing up.  For the past two years we have been sharing a vision of what the Attorney General can do to protect, preserve and improve this place we all call home.

However, we didn’t work this hard just to win an election.  We invested the whole of ourselves into this campaign so that those hopes and dreams for the future of our state can be become a reality.  As difficult as this campaign has been, the real work begins after taking the oath of office.

Thank you for giving me the opportunity to undertake that hard work as Montana’s next Attorney General, and I hope I can continue to count on you being by my side.
