(Helena) Steve Bullock won Montana’s Democratic primary for Attorney General on Tuesday, defeating former State Senator Mike Wheat (D-Bozeman) and Representative John Parker (D-Great Falls) to earn his party’s nod to meet Republican Tim Fox (R-Helena) in the General Election.
Unofficial results from the Office of the Secretary of State show Bullock with a broad based victory having won 32 of Montana’s 56 Counties to 15 for Senator Wheat and 9 for Representative Parker. Bullock won in urban and rural areas including victories in both Montana’s largest county (Yellowstone) and Montana’s smallest county (Petroleum).
With all but one precinct reporting, Bullock had 42% of the vote to Wheat’s 36% and Parker’s 21%.
Bullock ended up getting nearly 20,000 votes more statewide than the Republican he will meet in the General Election with 63,331 votes to Fox’s 43,414.
